Volume 3 of Kikaida DVD Released by Hawaii Company
HONOLULU--Get ready to sing along with a superhero icon when
local video production company JN Productions releases
the third volume of the live-action 1970s' television series Kikaida on DVD.
Volume 3 of the Kikaida DVD hits store shelves on Tuesday, May 13.
Kikaida's fervent fans will be able to watch the exploits of
their favorite super-powered android as he battles
the third wave of DARK Destructoid monster attacks.
And now they'll also be able to sing along to karaoke videos
of the catchy opening and closing theme songs--
complete with on-screen lyrics.
"We are extremely pleased that so many
fans are still out there, asking for more,"
said JN Productions owner and president, Joanne Ninomiya.
"The legend of Kikaida is alive and well."
Volume 3 of the Kikaida DVD will include Episodes #11-through-15 of
the original 43-episode series that first aired in Japan
from 1972-1973 and in Hawaii on KIKU-TV beginning in 1974.
The series follows Kikaida as he continues his battle against evil
DARK Destructoid monsters Gold Wolf, Silver Cat, Pink Tiger,
Silver Tortoise, and Golden Bat.
The total running time of the five episodes on Volume 3
is two hours and five minutes.
Over 17,000 Kikaida DVDs have been sold since
the release of the first volume in October 2002.
In addition to digitally remastered picture and sound,
the Kikaida episodes are fully subtitled in English and
boast bilingual English and Japanese menus to help
Kikaidamaniacs navigate through the disc.
Other special features on the DVD include an all-new Kikaida trivia game,
cast and crew profiles, and DARK Destructoid monster profiles with sound effects.
