ハワイ上陸３０周年
ＤＶＤ第７巻の発売日決定！

ホノルル‐なんとハワイにキカイダーが登場して早や３０年が経った。

１９７０年代のレトロなスーパーヒーロー、
キカイダーのハワイ上陸３０周年を記念して、
３月２３日火曜日に人造人間キカイダーDVD第７巻を発売する。

キカイダーとモンスターそして、ジロー役の俳優・伴大介も
この３０周年イベントの応援に駆けつける。

スケジュールは
３月２６日白木屋、3：30−5ｐｍ、
３月２７日ブロックバスターパールシティー、12：30−1：30ｐｍ、
４月３日ブロックバスターカネオヘ、12：30−1：30ｐｍ
キカイダーイベントと伴大介サイン会が行われる。
風船と塗り絵の本が無料配布予定。(数限定)

「大好きだったスーパーヒーローをまた放送してくれてありがとうと、
どれだけ多くの３０〜４０代のファンからお礼を言われたかわかりません。
放送当時ハワイで育った子供達に大人気だった、
キカイダーを始めとする懐かしのヒーロー達が登場するイベントを、
この３０周年を記念して今年末に企画しております。」
とJNプロダクションズのジョアン・二ノ宮社長は語った。

キカイダーは日本では１９７２〜７３年に放送され、
ハワイのキクテレビで放送開始されたのが７４年。当時のちびっこたちを中心に大ヒットした。
キカイダーはポップカルチャーの代表的な存在となり、キャラクター商品なども大ヒットしたのだった。
この人気が本物だった事を証明したのが、２００１年１１月に二ノ宮社長によってもう一度ハワイのお茶の間に登場し、またリバイバルヒットしたことだ。

この第７巻には全４３話の第３１話から第３５話までの５話分が収録されている。
JNプロダクションズによると、第８〜９巻は今年末までに発売される予定。

キカイダージェネレーションファンにはジローとしてお馴染みの伴大介だが、
最近では、ハワイで製作されたアクションテレビシリーズ、
“ブラッド・オブ・ザ・サムライ”(アロン・ヤマサト監督)にゲスト出演している。
「ハワイでのイベントにいつも参加できることをとても嬉しく想います。
それがこのとても才能のあるハワイの人々とめぐり合う機会をくれたわけです。」

アクション満載の５話に加えて、このDVDにはスペシャル特典として、
伴大介新・独占インタビューが収録。他に、キカイダー裏話、
キャスト＆クループロフィール、そしてダーク破壊部隊モンスターの
声入りプロフィールなど、楽しい特典がいっぱいだ。

DVD化にあたり、新しくデジタル化されたマスター映像と音声に加えて、
５話全てが英語字幕付き。また、日英両語のメニューなど、
ディスク全てがバイリンガル仕様になっている。５話の合計時間は２時間５分。

キカイダーDVDはマウンテンアップルカンパニーによって独占流通販売されており、

Kikaida - Thirty Years in Hawaii





HONOLULU - Believe it or not, Kikaidaﾕs hit the big "3-0".

Kikaida, the retro 1970s superhero, marks his 30th anniversary in Hawaii in 2004, with the official release of the seventh volume of the Kikaida DVD series on Tuesday, March 23.

Kikaida and friends, as well as actor Ban Daisuke (Jiro) will kick off the 30th Anniversary of Kikaida in Hawaii with appearance/autograph sessions at Shirokiya on March 26, 3:30 to 5 pm, Blockbuster Pearl City on March 27, 12:30 to 1:30 pm, and Blockbuster Kaneohe on April 3, 12:30 to 1:30 pm. The stores will distribute free balloons and Kikaida coloring books (while supplies last).

"So many thirty- and forty-something-year-olds have thanked me for bringing back their favorite super hero of the mid-seventies,ﾓ said Joanne Ninomiya, JN Productions owner and president. "We're planning a big 30th anniversary celebration at the end of 2004 to bring back nostalgia and re-live those childhood memories. Kikaida and other Japanese super heroes from the seventies influenced a whole generation of children growing up in Hawaii at the time,ﾓ Ninomiya said.

The Kikaida series first aired in Japan from 1972 to 1973 and then debuted in Hawaii in February 1974 on the original KIKU-TV. The show became a hit with kids, transforming Kikaida into a pop icon and retail hit for Hawaii merchants. The series proved its enduring appeal with a revival that began when Ninomiya brought it back to Hawaii television in November 2001.

Volume 7 of the Kikaida DVD includes Episodes 31-through-35 of the original 43-episode series. JN Productions expects to release the ninth and final volume in the series by the end of the year.

Ban, known as Jiro to members of Generation Kikaida, guest-starred in Blood of the Samurai, the martial arts-action television series produced by local filmmaker Aaron Yamasato.

"I am happy to be included each time with Kikaida events in Hawaii," Ban said. This gave me the opportunity to meet so many nice and talented local people.ﾓ

In addition to the action-packed episodes, the disc features an all-new interview with Ban-san. Other special features on the DVD include behind-the-scenes Kikaida factoids, cast and crew profiles, and DARK Destructoid monster profiles with sound effects.

In addition to boasting digitally remastered picture and sound, the Kikaida DVDs feature bilingual English and Japanese menus. The five episodes are fully subtitled in English, and even boast a family-friendly, ﾒexpletives-deletedﾓ subtitle selection option. The total running time of the five Kikaida episodes is two hours and five minutes.

The Kikaida DVD is distributed exclusively by The Mountain Apple Company and is available whereever DVDs are sold and through the official Generation Kikaida website (http://www.generationkikaida.com/store).

Classic episodes from the Kikaida series air on Saturday from 7 to 8 pm on KIKU-TV (Oceanic 9/Digital 89, UHF 20, Craig TV 10).
